Reels And Riffs
Brief:
This movie and concert series was the big kickoff of events from our Parks and Recreation department utilizing our new, multi-million dollar downtown Bell Tower Green’s stage and amenities. The poster and social media graphics focused on highlighting the park, advertising the event series and drawing crowds of participants.
Solution:
This design captures the two aspects of the events series – the movies on Friday nights as well as the concerts on Saturdays. The colors are vibrant and attention-grabbing, the logo is bold and creates a strong sense of identity across multiple platforms. The unique silhouette of the parks’ stage area is a central point of the poster, to clearly ground the events in their new location.

Resident’s Guide
Brief:
Moving to a new community can be difficult, especially knowing who to call about overgrown grass, paying the water bill, and local events. Even current residents might not know the answers. This information needs to be provided in a format that is durable but attractive enough that hopefully residents will hold onto it and use it for future reference.
Solution:
Led the information gathering, design and review process for the Resident’s Guide, a 20-page brochure summarizing essential information from all 14 City of Salisbury departments in a magazine-style format. The guide was so popular with local organizations, the original 13,000 copies ran out and it was reordered, as well as translated into Spanish.

The Lamplighter
Brief:
Residents felt that they were not receiving communications from the city, particularly non-digital communications. This City of Salisbury needed a cost-effective method to reach people where they are, in their homes.
Solution:
Designed the Lamplighter: the official community newsletter for the City of Salisbury. Published monthly and mailed to all households, it covers city departments, activities and programs. A Spanish version and e-newsletter version are also created monthly. The Lamplighter is very successful, 2023 survey results show that 57 percent of respondents have attended, signed up for or took action on an event or program as a result of reading.

Be A Recycling Hero
Brief:
The Salisbury Public Works department was looking for the best possible ways to reach our citizens and educate them on the recycling process. Due to increasing costs in the recycling industry, making the process more efficient and therefore less expensive was a high priority. One way to achieve this is to reduce contamination in the recycling stream. This means residents would recycle the correct materials only, and trash incorrect materials.
Solution:
Developed multi-platform campaign focused on super-hero style graphics to inform residents on recycling. This campaign included designing vehicle wraps, flyers, promotional magnets, park signage and social media.
The Public Works department reported successful results with a reduction in overall waste, resulting in lower expenses.
There was also a marked increase in traffic to the recycling webpage created in conjunction with this campaign.
